Cedar Shake Roof Cleaning By Roof Cleaner,Hello! Bruce here to talk about preserving and extending of life of the cedar shake roof that you have. While I’m speaking, I’m going to show you some examples, of the results that you can get from using our process, to preserve and extend the life of your cedar shake roof. As a cedar shake home roof owner, you may not realize, but cedar shakes are organic in nature. They have to be maintained more any other roofing material out there. But, fortunately, if you do maintain it, you can expect your cedar shake roof to last 40 to 60 years. Also, there’s another benefit to it, it’s the insulating factor. It insulates your home much better, and holds the ambient temperature, so you don’t have those high heating, and cooling bills, that you get throughout the year.

The solution that Dan is going to use is non-caustic and non-toxic. It’s not going to hurt your landscape, pets, children, or anything else. Also, he’s not going to walk on your roof, and he’s not going to use the pressure washer.

I’m going to put some video up, behind me here, that show the gentleman putting on the solution. And, what he’s doing is he’s standing on a ladder. He’s not walking on the roof busting all of the shingles. He’s going to do it all from a ladder, with a 12 Volt pump system. It’s about 30 PSI, it’s just enough pressure to put that solution up there, so he can engulf all those shakes, and get all that algae, moss, mold, mildew, lichen, and fungi out of those shingles, because they’re deteriorating. But, that’s the problem, they’re organic. And so, he’s going to put that on, engulf everything, and then, he’s going to let that dwell for a little while. As you can see, he’s covering every shingle up there.

Now, I’m going to go to the part where he rinses it. Again, you’ll see, he’s standing on a ladder, he’s not walking on the roof and he’s also not using the pressure washer. In his hand is a garden hose. And what he’s doing now, is he’s hitting every shingle and he’s rinsing every one of them, to get all that algae, moss, mold, mildew, lichen, and fungi out of there, to stop them from deteriorating, to make them back to their natural state, like they were when they were first put on. What this does is preserve them, and extends the life of them, for many, many years to come.

And, a normal roof top cleaning you can do every eight to ten years. If you do that you’re never going to have to put another roof on.
